A little about me

About: Headliner
About: About

Hello!

I'm Rev. Elizabeth Rawlings (she/they). I'm a pastor, Spiritual Director, writer, liturgist, vocal advocate for justice, faith based community organizer, advocate for healing centered (trauma-informed) ministry and relentless proponent of radical self-love and compassion. I look forward to the opportunity to help you find your spiritual path or create ritual to mark the transformational moments in your life.

I am a Christian (Lutheran - ELCA) minister who also walks in the world of ancestral practice and folk magic. I work through lenses of anti-oppression, decolonization, and trauma awareness. I will joyously help create and/or officiate ritual that is appropriate for my background and scope of knowledge.  I have worked with people from Christian, humanist, pagan, and spiritual-but-not-religious backgrounds (and more!) to create ritual to mark important moments in their lives. If my background and work don't match your needs and desires, I can help you find someone who will.

I currently serve as the facilitator for the Community of Spiritual Practice in Asheville, NC. Prior to this call, I served The Sanctuary, the Lutheran Episcopal ministry to the University of Washington as pastor and Executive Director where I created a healing centered ministry; a space where people could honestly and safely explore their wounds and find ways to new life. I am a founder and co-conspirator for Disrupt Worship Project, a liturgical and theological resource for congregational leaders looking to engage their congregation in working for justice and equity.  I also have experience in organizing, social media strategy, and non-profit work. I studied folk practices under Ylva Mara Radeciewski and Katy Pavlis. My Spiritual Direction training is through Still Harbor. I have a Master's in Divinity from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA, a Master's in Public Administration from Seattle University, and a Bachelors Degree from Warren Wilson College where I studied Outdoor Leadership.
